Tullio Jappelli is Full Professor of Political Economy at the University of Naples Federico II, Director of the Interuniversity Center for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF), and Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). His research focuses mainly on saving, liquidity constraints, portfolio choices, intergenerational transfers, and banking. He has published more than 100 works in books and journals, including Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Quarterly Journal of Economics. He is also the author of several books, including The Economics of Consumption (Oxford University Press, with Pistaferri), Household Portfolios (MIT Press, with Guiso and Haliassos), and Stockholding in Europe (Palgrave-MacMillan, with Guiso and Haliassos). He has collaborated on research projects with numerous international and national institutions, including NBER, CEPR, the European Union, the European Central Bank, the World Bank, Banque de France, the Inter-American Development Bank, Banca d’Italia, and Unicredit.
